Wall plates are available in a few different varieties. Some wall plates are pre-configured with audio, video, and/or data options built in directly. Other wall plates are made with keystone holes, which allow any keystone jack to be inserted for customization. Keystone wall plates are a common solution that allows users to make a wall plate to their personal, exact specifications and can even use blank inserts to cover up empty holes while leaving room for future upgrades. Specialty wall plates are also available, such as blank wall plates used to cover up old, unused holes.
