Musical Instrument Digital Interface, also known as MIDI, is a technical standard which has the digital interface and connectors to communicate and transfer data to and from a wide range of electronic musical instruments, computers and other related electronic devices. A single MIDI link can transmit up to 16 channels of information, in which, each can be separated out into individual devices. MIDI allows for multiple instruments to be played from a centralized station or controller.
