The HGLN-CAT5EJW24 Lightning Protector provides superior lightning and surge protection for indoor 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks. Integral to the design is protection for the four Ethernet data pairs and the PoE DC power feed. The unit features a low capacitance diode array that can withstand large surge currents. The design utilizes a Thyristor diode which switches to a low impedance state once triggered. This offers superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Zener diode based designs. The limits are +/- 36 volts on the four cable pairs. Designed to be compatible with 15V and 24V PoE devices, the HGLN-CAT5EJW24 is ideal for use with select devices from Motorola, Ubiquiti, Engenius and Planet as well as other PoE equipment requiring 15V or 24V. The HGLN-CAT5EJW24 features shielded RJ45 jacks. This along with the unit's metal housing helps reduce the effects of EMI interference. A ground lug and terminal is provided directly on the lightning protector housing, providing superior grounding. A second ground and terminal is provided for strapping multiple units together.
