A: 'High-density' usually describes patch panels. High-density patch panels have the jacks positioned very close to one another. They require high-density jacks because the rear footprint of other jacks may be too wide. So if you're using a high-density patch panel make sure to get high-density jacks. Otherwise they may not fit properly.

A: The difference between them is in physical profile; there is no difference in performance.
