HDMI connectors have no locking mechanism to secure the HDMI Cable, but instead use a friction connection to hold the HDMI Cable in its input. HDMI Cables are known for easily coming loose from their input. This problem can become worse over time, after plugging and unplugging several times. HDMI EZ locks prevent all of these issues by attaching to the component's chassis using either the existing screw above or below the HDMI port, or with the supplied VHB adhesive. Once attached, the HDMI Cable is held securely in place to prevent an HDMI Cable from coming loose or unplugged completely.

Features:

  • Universally compatible with all components
  • Prevents cable damaging cable strain
  • Keeps HDMI cable plugged in so you don't experience any video or sound issues
  • Installs in minutes
  • Sold in pairs with all the necessary hardware included
  • Made in the U.S.A.

Product Questions

What size is the screw hole? Is there any threading?
Question by: Brandon on Oct 16, 2019, 7:54 AM
The screw that is included to use in the chassis is:

M3 - .50 x 6 mm

That's the commonly used size for most components that have a screw above/below the HDMI output, although I have seen a few cases where manufacturers use a different size (in which case you'd have to check on the screw size).

The set screw we use to tighten the lock to the cable is 6/32".

I have a need for this on the Magewell Pro Capture Quad HDMI Video Capture Card. I know there is no screw and I would need to use the adhesive, but is there enough space? I think it would be great if I didn't have to then use the other screw to keep it in place. A quick release version would be great. I would be using it to set up and take down often, but prefer a solid connection that would not be easily unplugged.

Thanks for the question! This EZ Lock is held in place by a screw, but the screw could be substituted with an adhesive. The only issue is that it may not be as easily taken down. There are two main pieces of the lock, one that secures to the device and another that holds the cord in place. You could secure the smaller, device locking piece to the Magewell Pro and leave it there after take down, removing the cord and the second piece.
