The Fluke 1587 is specifically designed to test insulation up to 2GΩ. It also includes tests for AC/DC voltage and current, capacitance, frequency, and resistance. When using the included K-type thermocouple probe, the Fluke 1587 can measure temperature from -40 °F to 998 °F. This meter also provides a Min/Max test which monitors current change. With True-RMS, 3 3/4 digit display and 6,000 count this full-featured meter is reliable and accurate. The Fluke 1587 includes remote probe, test leads, and alligator clips.

A: You must first decide what you need it for. Choosing a multimeter depends on what tests you want to run and what level of power or voltage your test will need to accommodate.
