Yes, these terms are interchangeable.

Definitions:

  • Plug: Male Connector

 

  • Jack: Female Connector

 

  • TS: 2 Conductor Mono TS (Tip Sleeve)

 

  • TRS: 3 Conductor Stereo TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve)

 

  • TRRS: 4 Conductor TRRS (Tip Ring Ring Sleeve)
