Experience the next generation of networking with Cat6a Patch Cables from ShowMeCables. These network cables enable 10-Gigabit data transmission over a 4-connector twisted-pair copper cable, allowing connection distances of up to 100 meters. Current Cat6 cabling systems may only support 10-Gigabit Ethernet over limited distances. Cat6a extends the Cat6 electrical specifications from 250 MHz to 500 MHz. It also proposes a new measurement for Power-Sum Alien Crosstalk to 500 MHz. Alien Crosstalk is a coupled signal in a disturbed pair arising from a signal in a neighboring cable.

  • Cat6a
  • Unshielded riser-rated jacket
  • Supports IEEE 802.3af and is DTE power compliant
  • Compatible with T568A and T568B wiring
  • Provides NEXT performance beyond 600 MHz
  • Color: Gray
  • Max Continuous Length: 1000 FT

Please note: All products that are bought per foot are non-returnable.

Any amount of cable you order above the maximum continuous length of 1000 FT will be sent in separate pieces.

REVIEW SUMMARY for Cat6a UTP Solid PVC Cable - Gray - Per FT
No reviews for this product

Q: What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6a?

A: Cat6a is designed to carry a 10 Gigabit signal (10GBASE-T) up to 100 meters. Cat6 can only send a 10 Gigabit signal 37-55 meters. Furthermore, there are dramatic improvements in alien crosstalk (AXT) prevention with Cat6a.

Q: What does Cat6 mean?

A: Cat6a is short for Augmented Category 6. Cat6a is the next level up from Cat6. It can carry signals further and improves alien crosstalk.

Q: Will this make my internet connection faster?

A: No; the cable alone will not make your connection faster, it only adds more bandwidth. Imagine that the cable is a highway: adding more bandwidth is like adding more lanes. It allows more traffic, but it doesn't make your car faster. To increase the speed of your internet connection, you must improve your network.

Q: What is the maximum length for a Cat6a cable?

A: The maximum length for a Cat6a cable run is 100 meters (328 feet). If longer runs are required, the use of active hardware such as a repeater or switch if necessary.

Q: What is shielded Cat6a cable?

A: Shielded Cat6a cable is used for increased protection from interference and crosstalk. It is typically used in electrical noisy environments. Common sources of interference are radio towers, high-powered electrical conduit, fluorescent lighting, or any other device emitting electro-magnetic or radio frequency signals.

Q: What does plenum rated mean?

A: Plenum (CMP) is a rating that is given to cables that have passed a stringent burn test and are able to be run through plenum air spaces. Plenum air spaces include drop ceilings and non-ducted HVAC air returns.
