Not a punchdown IDC. But works well. I mounted it in a extra patch panel to hold it while I raised the orange levers with a sharp awl. I then inserted a stripped wire while holding the lever up. Holds tight. KT

I stripped the wire. I inserted the keystone in a extra blank patch panel that I held in my lap to hold the keystone securely while I wired it. I then used a sharp awl to raise the orange lever while I inserted the wire. I then release the orange lever. I inserted 1 wire at a time. Holds the wire very well. This is not an IDC Punchdown connection but it works well. I am not sure I had to strip the wire before I inserted it but I did. KT

Q: What does keystone mean?

A: Keystone refers to a standardized modular system where different jacks can be snapped into wall plates, surface-mount boxes, or a patch panel. Any keystone module (or jack) will fit in any keystone plate or panel.

Q: Which manufacturers' wall plates, patch panels and surface mount boxes will these jacks work with?

A: The dimensions of all keystone products are standardized, so these jacks should work with keystone products from any manufacturers. Some of the most popular brands are ICC, Panduit, and Leviton.
