Digital Coax and Optical Audio to RCA Stereo Audio Converter

This digital coax and optical audio to RCA stereo audio converter is used to convert digital audio to analog audio signals. Used with applications such as older televisions or other electronic devices that do not have digital audio inputs. Take your digital audio device (such as a DVD Player) and plug in your digital audio (S/PDIF) connection into the converter box. The other end of this converter box will have an analog output that goes into your television or any analog input device. This converter also features the option for a digital loopout. This option would allow you to connect to another analog input device. An example would be to connect a home theater system or extra speakers to go along with your television.

I did not know which product I needed. I arranged to order both kinds and return the product that was not used. Subsequently, I was advised that I did not need the products. So I returned both products. The customer service/advice was excellent both on the ordering end and on the return end. I am awaiting a refund.

These types of converters are directional so you should always be aware of the ‘TO’. This converter is an excellent way to convert the signal from a source (usually a TV) with a digital optical output TO a device that has RCA inputs. It will not work the other way around. Many TV’s these days are going strictly digital. This means they are no longer supporting analog inputs or outputs although many of the devices we use have these analog connections on them. A common application for this converter is to convert a digital optical audio output from a TV to RCA for input into a sound bar. Because most newer TVs only have the digital outputs, a converter is necessary to change the signal to analog. This converter is completely plug and play, meaning that you only need to connect the proper cables and you’re good to go! You will need a Toslink cable from the source to the converter and a dual RCA from the converter to the end device.

Q: My new TV only has optical audio out. My older audio receiver only has red and white RCA inputs. What product do I need to connect these devices together?

A: To make that connection you will need a digital audio to analog audio converter. You can find that product here.

Q: Will a converter improve my picture quality?

A: No, a converter will only change the signal type. The signal quality will be only as good as the input device.
